    Fancy learning to sew? An informal environment that aims to let you work at your own pace, giving you skills and confidence to use a sewing machine and to have a go at making your own clothes /accessories.

    Aims and Content
    This workshop aims to give young people the opportunity to learn basic construction skills and sewing machine techniques.
    During the workshop students will learn by constructing a messenger bag, the tutor will demonstrate and teach techniques such as seams, reading a pattern, tacking, patchwork and hand sewing. Following the initial project students can choose to continue and use their own shop bought pattern to construct an item of their choice.

    Additional costs will be for threads, fabrics and patterns, there are a limited number of sewing machines for student use.

    This is a drop-in, pay-as-you-go class - no need to sign up or pay in advance, just come along on the day and join in!

    This fantastic new tutored class is perfect for all ability levels, especially art students wanting to develop their skills and work with professional life models in our painting & drawing studio.

    Please contact the Centre to reserve a place

    Students will need to bring their own materials - we recommend you bring paper, charcoal and a putty rubber.

    Materials can be purchased from our on-site art shop.

    For ages 13+

    Create your own piece of ceramic work using hand building techniques. No experience is necessary - please bring an old shirt or apron. All materials will be available in class (the price of clay and firing is dependent on the weight of the piece).

    Make bowls, mugs, plates and vases or sculpt interesting pieces of ceramic work for you art portfolios. Bring along your ideas and the tutor will guide you in realising them.

    The keys to our lives are hidden in our writing. The story reveals the purpose and the proper rhythm of our lives. Join me on this one day course to explore the abundant pleasures of writing together in a nurturing and creative environment.

    Guided writing exercises will provide the structure for you to embark upon your unique writing adventure. Everything you need to know is already within you; it just needs you to turn the key.
