This is a natural cross-over for seasoned woodcarvers, could be a new experience for artists, and will be an easy introduction for people who have never done anything like this before.

Using MDF and carving tools you will be able to create a printing block to try out different ways of producing a printed image. It could be a simple silhouette, an outline or a half tone design. As the printing inks will be water based the blocks will be sealed with shellac button polish or cellulose varnish before they are inked up.

After the paper is carefully positioned over the block, it is thoroughly rubbed with a barn, or with the back of a flat wooden kitchen spoon before it is pulled away and hung to dry.

All materials, including paper and inks, and all tools will be supplied.
