Aylesbury Folk Club

Friday 01 July - 8:00 pm

Join Aylesbury Folk Club for their regular gathering in the Queens Park Annexe.

Hosted by our resident folk artists - singer Amanda Diamond and guitarist Eddy Richards - these friendly sessions offer folk enthusiasts the chance to perform to a warm and appreciative crowd; all are welcome!

And if you don't fancy performing you can still come along and enjoy great music, friendly company and even grab yourself a drink from the Limelight bar.

Performers: £2.50
Non-performers: £4.50
Concessions: £3.50

Please note there is no advanced booking for the 'Folk in the Annexe' events, admission is paid on the door.

    Record-Breaking Auditions
    We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to come and audition for our 2016 pantomime Alice in Wonderland.

    We saw a record number of actors across the three audition sessions, and are now beginning the (very difficult!) process of selecting the final cast.

    Details of this year's panto company will be confirmed shortly.

    Bucks Open Studios 2016
    This year's Bucks Open Studios event is now underway and we've plenty going on here at the Centre.

    Brenda Hurley & Amanda Curbishley are exhibiting contemporary paintings in acrylic and mixed media in the Main Gallery, whilst Julia Phillips has a collection of textiles and fabrics on display in the Coffee Bar and Foyer.

    Finally - as seen in last week's edition of the Bucks Herald - we have potter Martin Upstone exhibiting a selection of ceramic pieces in the Foyer.

    Bucks Open Studios runs until 26th June.

    Spice Time Credits
    We're pleased to confirm that Queens Park Arts Centre is now registered with the Spice Time Credits scheme.

    The programme enables people to earn 'time credits' when they volunteer with a registered organisation. These credits can then be redeemed at many different venues and attractions across the country.

    Summer Workshops on Sale
    Our Children's Summer Holiday Workshops are now on sale.

    We'll be running five sessions at the end of July including 'Pottery Lions, Unicorns & Dragons', 'Thumbelin and the Flower', 'Cats Go Cooking' and two Shakespeare-inspired classes: 'Pottery Castles' and 'Big Bird Bards'.

    Limelight Theatre Updates
    Please note there are a few changes to the upcoming Limelight Theatre schedule:

    Alma - previously billed to appear on Friday 24th June - will now be performing the following day on Saturday 25th June.

    'A Number by Caryl Churchill has been postponed until summer 2017.

    Finally, there has been a change of headliner to Structured Disasters' gig night on Saturday 23rd July.

    Panto Auditions
    We conclude our audition sessions for Alice in Wonderland this week with sessions on Tuesday 16th (7pm) and Sunday 19th (11am).

    A Celebration of Shakespeare
    Our thanks to the cast and crew of our latest in-house production A Celebration of Shakespeare.

    The show played to a packed house and was very well received by the audience.

    We're pleased to announce the production made over £650 for the Centre's ongoing fundraising campaign.
