Nominated at the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and celebrated by The Telegraph as “one of Britain’s top folk musicians” Ange Hardy has grabbed the attention of the traditional folk music world by writing new material and embracing modern technologies whilst maintaining a traditional feel.

Alongside a staggering list of other accolades Ange was awarded FATEA Magazine’s “Female Vocalist of the Year” in 2013, “Album of the Year” in 2014 and “The Tradition Award” in 2015.

Whether she’s performing in a sold out theatre or an intimate village hall Ange brings a level of honesty and openness to the stage that is a refreshing as it is disarming. Her focus on vocal harmony and her pitch-perfect vocal talent has led her toward adopting a live-looping pedal; a digital tape-recorder at her feet that allows her to record and play back layers of vocal harmony live from the stage. In doing so she brings her talent as a recording artist to a live performance, adding an extra dimension to an already captivating stage presence.

You could be forgiven for thinking at first listen that Sunjay is older than his 22 years.

With a relaxed and confident manner, vocal style and mastery of his instrument he walks onto a stage and addresses the audienceas though he is sitting down to play music with a group of close friends; a completely natural approach for a young man who picked up the guitar when he wasjust 4 years old and hasn’t put it down since.

Sunjay’s style has that natural drift between folk and blues and both
camps have recognised his obvious flair. There have been a clutch of award nominations, including winning the Wath Festival Young Performers Award. He also made the final selection for the BBC’s Young Folk Award in 2012, had three nominations at the Exposure Music Awards 2014 and was also recognised by the 2014 British Blues Awards.

Drawing from a rich, musical and cultural background it is hardly surprising that Sunjay has quickly become recognised as one of the UK’s rising stars. His performances have been described as “mature & confident”, while his guitar playing has been hailed as “superb, brilliant, experienced, intricate & faultless”.

Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman have long established themselves as one of the UK folk scene’s most rewardingly enduring partnerships.

From a Parisian café via a Dublin hooley to a New Orleans party with rip-roaring fiddle & banjo, this band does it all!

Imagine stumbling across a smoky back street bar, late night jam: Django Reinhardt and The Pogues; Robert Johnson accompanies Edith Piaf; Bob Marley’s jammin’ with Stéphane Grappelli; Tom Waits joins in. This is French Connection.

Multi-talented erstwhile Godfather of grunge folk Wild Willy Barrett directs, as the versatile and heartrending vocals of French singer Aurora Colson take centre stage.

Changing gear between almost every number, the quartet perform stunning original compositions and arrangements on guitar, cello, harmonium, whistle, fiddle, banjo and Irish pipes.

Enjoy a wonderful evening of unique musical entertainment overlaid with a large dose of dry humour, very different from anything else you will experience in the UK at the moment.

PLEASE NOTE: This show replaces previously-billed appearance from Ryan McGarvey, who has regrettably had to postpone his UK tour dates

The Danny Giles Band is a marriage of classic and modern musical values; tipping its hat to the past, living in the present and looking towards the future - combining great songs, a great sound and stunning musicianship, all wrapped up in a modern formula.

The trio of Danny Giles (Guitar & Vox), Pat Garvey (Drums) & Jon Chase (Bass) bring you their brand of full-blooded rock with a twist of blues, gospel and soul, spiriting a no nonsense attitude & paying very little, if any attention at all to any of the boundaries placed before them.

Rainbreakers, a four piece outfit from Shrewsbury, have been hailed as one of the freshest new sounds in the UK blues rock and soul circuit. The band have developed a distinctive sound that embodies a fusion of dynamic musical elements that bridges the gap between Blues, Rock, Pop and Soul. The band are particularly fascinated with the sounds of the past, ranging from soul melodies and psychedelic sounds to garage-rock riffs and R&B grooves.

“Martin Simpson has transcended borders and oceans to quietly become a superb storyteller and musician of great depth and unquestionable taste.” Stephen Fearing

The remarkable intimate solo performances Martin gives go from strength to strength - every gig is a masterclass. He travels the length and breadth of the UK and beyond, giving rapt audiences passion, sorrow, love, beauty, tragedy and majesty through his playing.

41 years after he recorded his first album, Golden Vanity, in 1976, Martin is known as a guitarist of formidable talent. Equally at home playing English traditional folk, American folk and blues and his own compositions, he is consistently named as one of the very finest fingerstyle guitar players in the world.

He is listed in Gibson Guitars’ 'Top 30 Acoustic Guitarists of all Time', and Acoustic Guitar readers voted him number 12 guitarist in the world in 2005.

Universally acclaimed as one of the finest ever acoustic and slide guitar players, and a fine banjo-picker to boot, his solo shows bear witness to an artist at the very top of his game. Whether interpreting material from tradition or singing his own potent self-penned songs, Simpson is a remarkable storyteller: captivating and profoundly moving.

In recent years, he has been a lynchpin in the award-winning Full English, The Elizabethan Sessions and, in 2015, recorded Murmurs, an exciting new album with Andy Cutting and Nancy Kerr.

He has had the most nominations of any performer in the 15 years of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, an astonishing 31 times, 12 of those as Musician of the Year, winning that particular accolade twice.

A virtuoso player without question, but above all Martin Simpson conveys his diverse treasure trove of material from the heart, performing with rare subtlety, intensity and honesty. A true master of his art.

Award winning singer/songwriter Chris Cleverley is renowned for his ability to draw audiences to the edge of their seats with hauntingly delivered tales of ghost women, lonesome clock towers, lovelorn mariners and hospital beds.

Chris’ critically acclaimed debut album ‘Apparitions’ sailed into The Telegraph’s top 70 folk albums of 2015, while the national music press championed his unique song-writing and fingerstyle guitar techniques. Acoustic Guitar Magazine have hailed him as one to watch out for and the likes of fRoots, R2 and Folk Radio UK celebrate the raw, and at times unsettling honesty of his lyricism.

The contemporary style of his songwriting is grounded in the traditions and techniques of those who came before with clear influences from folk heavyweights like Martin Simpson, Nic Jones and Bert Jansch, while his arrangements of British and American traditional music reflect a strong affinity with the genre.

Since winning Bristol Folk Festival’s 2014 ‘Isambard Folk Award’, Chris’ national presence has grown exponentially, bringing his dynamic solo live sound to sell-out dates across the UK and over to the Continent too.
