Kelly Oliver is 'fabulously gifted, something special' says Chris Hawkins at BBC 6 Music and is also a 'vital voice in British Folk' according to 'Whispering' Bob Harris who has given the Hertfordshire born and based artist five of her ten BBC Radio 2 spins over the last year.

Following up her debut album This Land, for which Kelly received a 4* review from The Telegraph, and an Emerging Excellence award from Help Musicians UK, Kelly has released second album Bedlam, which gained a recommendation and review in The Sunday Times Culture Magazine, 4* from R2 Magazine and was featured on multiple blogs. 'Blending traditional values with bold indie pop sensibility' according to The Times, with accomplished guitar technique and harmonica which is sponsored by international brand Hohner and 'distinctive and breathtaking vocals' (The Telegraph), Kelly is 'an exceptional lyricist' (Penny Black magazine) and 'an amazing songwriter' (Mike Harding).

Dear departed Dave Swarbrick, who has performed with Kelly and added fiddle to one of the tracks on her debut album, had this to say "Kelly has the vocal skills and an exquisite voice to boot. For one so young to have such a grasp of life's travails is unusual, I like Kelly Oliver's approach to the present and the past and I predict a glittering future for her"

Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, JINSKI are song writer Stephen Wegrzynski and musician Dave Kennedy, a partnership forged from acoustic roots and the love of a strong melody. Their music touches the borders of folk, country, and pop, keeping alive the song writing tradition whilst remaining resolutely modern.

Playing ‘live’ with just two voices and two guitars JINSKI have been touring the UK, honing their craft, chalking up the miles and making new friends wherever they play. They have built a reputation for delivering music for the head and the heart that is full of passion, meaning and originality. Notable supports have been to Joe Jackson, Eliza Carthy , The Proclaimers, Lindisfarne and Raintown. In October 2016 they opened two shows for Kathryn Tickell at The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendall Cumbria and The Malting in Berwick, Northumberland. Recent TV appearances include BBC 1 The One Show.

In the last few years JINSKI have released two full studio CD albums (‘Down Here’ and ‘Hurry Home’) and a 10” vinyl only EP ‘Live Long’ all on general release through Lucky Smile Records/Proper Music Distribution. Their albums deliver memorable tunes with a cutting lyrical edge, taking the little things that matter and revealing the bigger picture. Here are songs that capture the moment, ask simple questions and offer some reflection. JINSKI tell stories capturing the mundane and the magic in everyday life.

Guest artists have included the English accordion queen Karen Tweed, New Rope String Band member Pete Challoner (banjo and fiddle), Jez Lowe’s pipes and piano man Andy May and JINSKI stalwart Neil Harland on double bass. All their albums have been produced and recorded by Dave Maughan (who has notably worked with Kathryn Williams and Maximo Park).

In December 2016 JINSKI released a free download track ‘Keep A Little Light On’ available for fans through their website... a little quiet contemplation after a harrowing year.

A chance meeting at their local Black Fen Folk Club in Cambridge uncovered Hannah and Ben’s shared musical passions and sympathies, that over time has developed into a unique and intimate show of American roots and English folk music.

Huddled round a single microphone, singing intimate duets with just mountain dulcimer, dobro and guitar Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage are a folk duo that look & sound classically timeless, yet feel refreshingly unique.

Fleetingly, they may evoke a memory of Gram & Emmylou, Shirley & Davey, or Gillian & David but their warm distilling of influences from both sides of the Atlantic produces a refined sound that is decidedly their own.

Their unique unplugged presentation creates a widescreen, cinematic soundscape with open spaces and atmosphere, giving their beautifully pure vocals room to share the songs’ emotion and narrative.

The material is as joyful and fun as it is intense, but the common factor is the duo’s warmth and confidence in each other; their natural ease and connection is clearly evident on the recorded music, and a genuine pleasure to witness on stage.

Vicki Swan & Jonny effortlessly blend traditional material with contemporary sounds. Their performances showcase new interpretations of old songs alongside original self penned tunes and new contemporary songs that are entirely at home in the tradition.

Out of this combination they have developed a sound that is both familiar and fresh. Strong believers in letting the music tradition live and breathe through sensitive interpretation, Vicki and Jonny allow the melody to sing without any constraints.

Be entranced by the haunting nyckelharpa, amazed at the cow horn (one of the worlds earliest communication devices) and meet some of the bagpipes that didn’t come from Scotland.

Suitable for all ages, their evenings are packed with toe tapping tunes and songs of love, death, trains and dressing up (not always at the same time) all presented with sparkling gentle humour, lots of smiles and skillful musicianship.
