What is a Pottery Party?

Pottery Parties are a brand new resource at Queens Park Arts Centre, giving people the chance to celebrate their birthdays (and other special occasions!) by getting hands-on with clay. We cater to all ability levels - from practised hands to newcomers working with clay for the first time.

Each party includes a 2-hour studio session led by our experienced pottery tutor Charlie Butters, during which party-goers will have the chance to create their very own themed momento. These can be taken home on the day or left at the Centre to be fired in the kiln - which means it can then be painted with acrylics to make it really stand out!

How much does a party cost?

Pottery Parties cater for groups of 6-12 people (for a children's party, we accept bookings for ages 6+). It costs £20 per person to attend - this fee covers the use of the studio space, all of the clay, tools and materials needed during the session and bisque firing of the finished items (one per person).

Please Note: In order to secure a booking we will require a deposit to be paid per person attending, usually £5. We will confirm this at the time of booking

Optional Extras

Coffee Bar Hire: We are unable to offer a catering service or decoration for the parties. However, for an additional £30 you can rent our Coffee Bar space in which to serve your own food after the pottery session has concluded. This can be set up whilst the session is in progress.

Keepsake Plaque:For an additional £10 the birthday boy / girl can receive a commemorative clay plaque, which will have their name in the centre surrounded by the fingerprints of all their friends. This will then be bisque fired after the party and will be available to pick up once it's out of the kiln.

During term time the pottery studio is available for parties on Saturday afternoons (after 1pm) and all day Sunday.

For availability during the school holidays please contact the Centre via the details below
