Half-day pottery workshop with Fi Chappelle
    10am-1pm

    For ages 9+

Learn the basics of throwing a pot at the wheel.

    About the Tutor

Fi is a friendly, patient teacher who is eager to share her passion and skills within pottery. In 2015 she graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Crafts, specialising in ceramics. Since then she has completed an internship at a pottery in Oxford and has set up her own pottery business, FICH ceramics.

    https://www.fichceramics.co.uk/

    Fee includes bisque firing.

Workshops can fill up quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment!

PLEASE NOTE: These sessions use wet clay. We will need to keep the work produced at the Centre to dry out and then to be fired in our kiln (this is known as bisque firing). This usually takes around one week to complete. After this time you can collect your work. Bisque fired work can be painted with acrylics to add colour (this does NOT make them waterproof).

If you would like to glaze your work (this is optional), you will need to attend our drop-in Saturday Maker's Club (entry fee of £5 / £4 members to cover tutor fees and glaze materials). HOWEVER, please note we can only accommodate glazing of work produced during the school holidays during the SECOND session from 11:30am to 12:30pm. We will then fire the work in the kiln again and it will be ready to take home after approximately two weeks.

Due to limited space at the Centre work can only be kept here for a limited time once it has been fired. You will be notified by email when the work is ready to collect after one or both firings.
