An informal environment that aims to let you work at your own pace, giving you skills and confidence to use a sewing machine and to have a go at making your own clothes /accessories. Aims and ContentThis workshop aims to give young people the opportunity to learn basic construction skills and sewing machine techniques.During the workshop students will learn by constructing a messenger bag, the tutor will demonstrate and teach techniques such as seams, reading a pattern, tacking, patchwork and hand sewing. Following the initial project students can choose to continue and use their own shop bought pattern to construct an item of their choice. Additional costs will be for threads, fabrics and patterns, there are a limited number of sewing machines for student use.This is a drop-in, pay-as-you-go class - no need to sign up or pay in advance, just come along on the day and join in!
