  • Our May Maker's Fair returns for 2019.

    We'll have a wide selection of art and craf tto view and by - all created by the tutors, students and volunteers of Queens Park Arts Centre.

    We'll also have craft activities for children, live music, hot and cold refreshments including a BBQ and Pimms, and free parking throughout the day.

    Now in it’s 5th year, Aylesbury Town Council's Soapbox Derby 2019 promises to be the best race yet.

    Race day is getting closer for this exciting and thrilling event, open to everyone whether you have built a kart or would just like to come along as a spectator and enjoy a host of other activities on offer including music with DJ Dan Blaze, Ride-on Little Tikes for the little ones, swing boats, crafts, games and even a proper Drag Car from Santa Pod racing, all for FREE. There is no cost to participate or spectate, so come along and enjoy a fun packed day.

    Food and drinks are available, including a BBQ, The Works with their very popular ice-cream bike, The Coffee Stop, and a sweet stall, should you get hungry or thirsty. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic, should you wish.

    Queens Park Arts Centre will be providing a free make-and-take craft activity, and will once again be racing its very own cart!

  • Aylesbury Vale District Council present this year's WhizzFizzFest!

    Now in it’s 17th year, the family-friendly literary and arts festival has become an eagerly anticipated annual event for Aylesbury town centre, attracting visitors with interests in all areas of the arts. Originally inspired by Roald Dahl, WhizzFizzFest has evolved into a celebration of all creative arts with children’s literature and their amazing imaginations being at the heart of it all.

    Headlining this year’s festival, WhizzFizzFest’s exciting literary line up includes Cressida Cowell, author of the incredible How to Train Your Dragon series, national treasure Judith Kerr, whose The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Mog series are amongst the country’s best loved children’s titles, and Nick Butterworth, the award-winning author and illustrator of the adored Percy the Park Keeper series. We’re also delighted to welcome back a familiar face to WhizzFizzFest, Dame Darcey Bussell, who will be returning with her DDMix Dance Fitness schools’ dance competition, supported by BGT semi-finalist, Maddox and Aylesbury Rock Choir.

    Queens Park Arts Centre will be present to perform the Top 6 entries of our 500 Words Challenge, with the winning stories set to be announced on the day of the Festival. Millie the Dragon - from last year's production of 'The Sword in the Stone' - will also be making a special appearance during the parade!

    Our theatre company, Unbound, will also be involved with an exciting new free theatre show!

  • To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first landing on the Moon, Aylesbury Town Council are delighted to bring you a unique event for 2019.

    The team from UKAstronomy, alongside a representative from NASA, will educate you about the Moon and all things Space. There will be talks, games, crafts, activities and a host of very special items from space. So if you’ve ever looked at the moon and stars and wondered what it’s like “up there” come along and find out.

    Queens Park will be providing a special lunar-themed make-and-take craft activity on the day.

  • Aylesbury Town Council's spectacular live music festival returns for 2019.

    The plans for this event and well under way, with an exciting line up of talented local bands who’ll perform for nine-and-a-half hours across two stages, the very popular Community Involvement Area and fun fair rides all for free. With bars, catering and market stalls available too.

    Queens Park Arts Centre will be running a special recycling-themed community art project on the day - more details to be announced soon!
